FlyZone pulls out all the stops with the new Albatros Micro. Amazing scale detail and a great paint job sets expectations high for flight performance, let’s see how the Albatros scored…

See how you can make your Albatros look a bit more like the real thing. Some dry-brush weathering, thread, and detail painting make the features of this little foam plane really stand out…without degrading the performance!
Summary
FlyZone’s Albatros is one of the few WWI micro RC replicas available on the market. After flying the Albatros, we’re hoping FlyZone continues with this lineup and releases more WWI planes like the Fokker’s, Spad’s, or the famous S.E. 5′s.
Having been graced with the highest review score we’ve given on any product to date, it begs the question: “Why?”
- The right powerplant – Plenty of thrust and extremely long runtimes.
- A stable airframe – Let’s face it: some scale planes just don’t translate well to a micro. The Albatros flies stable, predictable, and with no “bad” tendencies showing up as you increase the airspeed.
- Amazing ground handling – Once you get the tail off the ground, the Albatros is like driving a car around on pavement.
- Beautiful finish – The Albatros has such a great finish that the overall flight experience is enhanced by how it looks going through the air.
- The landings – You can grease the landings with the Albatros, so remarkably, that you’ll spend hours on touch-n-go’s… what a blast!
The Albatros is in the top of it’s class of 3-channel micro airplanes and quite possibly the best value in micro flight to date.
In a sea of mediocre micros, FlyZone has given us a truly amazing product with the Albatros…thanks!

I wonder if this plane would benefit with rigging as in the original. especially the landing gear?
Rigging would definitely increase the “cool factor” for this plane but based on it’s size, would most likely be detrimental to flights times as bi planes have a lot of drag anyway, rigging would make it worse. I’ve got about twenty flights on mine and it flies like a bi plane, i.e., “glides like a brick:! Happy Landings…under a little power with this one!
