Summary

Getting into quad copters can be a tricky process these days, not because there are few options but because there are so many options. Micros abound and larger, more stable platforms can get extremely pricey. Enter the Ethos FPV and HD…

With a budget in mind, Ares has bumped up the size of their popular Ethos line and give pilots an expanding range of platform features and flight experience. Their “350” sized in-betweeners offer a nice blend of lower cost, lighter weight, but more advanced capabilities.

The quad group is a fickle one indeed. The purists balk at anything short of carbon fiber frames running 6S plus power and brushless motors. To add complexity, the FPV crowd wants speed and superior live feed optics while the aerial video enthusiasts are all about recorded image quality, semi-autonomous control and gyroscopic camera gimbals. These little guys offer a great opportunity to get your feet wet in both arenas while keeping your wallet in check.

    Hey guys,
Thanks for all the good info in your videos, it’s super helpful !!

Got a quick question, though the answer probably wont be quick).. 😉

I got a Ares Ethos FPV for Christmas but I keep burning through motors. After today I will have replaced 3 motors in roughly about 20-25 mins of flight time. Is there any other brushed motor that is compatible that isn’t made out of shit? Sorry for swearing but i’m a little frustrated.

You said in the video this is a brushed motor, size 350. Does anyone else make a better quality motor that I can use instead.. At this point i’d pay $20 a piece for them. 😀
